The Proof is in the Tape!

Its hard to imagine that a simple change in your bed substrate can have such a huge effect, but it totally does.

The first piece? Low adhesion blue tape. The second? High adhesion “plain” masking tape. I’ll have a longer post about this, and a few other tricks and failures I’ve had in prints.

    1. Definitely! I think back in the day, when beds were mostly made of wood, people used the low-adhesion tape to avoid damaging the surface, but now that polycarbonate, acrylic and aluminum are the primary materials used, it should be less of a concern. As always, I’d recommend trying on the backside of the bed first, just in case, although I don’t believe the acrylic PSA on masking tape should bond too well to PC.
